Are real estate agents salespeople?
The answer to that question depends on what your definition of “salesperson” is. For some, the word conjures up images of a slickly dressed used car salesman who uses dishonest and unethical persuasive tactics. He overpromises, under-delivers, and hides the fine print. Unfortunately, this understanding of salesperson has come to represent all kinds of salespeople over the years, and real estate agents have not escaped this distasteful image. Our ultimate goal is to debunk this “salesperson as slimeball” reputation, because if this is the definition of sales, then NO, we are not in sales—even if we’re selling a house.
We are trained, licensed professionals, first and foremost. Both Liz and I have over 15 years of experience in the greater Boston area, and we love this market. It’s full of historic as well as modern buildings, it represents a mix of both urban and suburban properties, and it always cultivates enthusiasm in the people who live here. We've worked in both weak and strong markets, and can therefore maintain a cool head and help others play (and win) the long game.
We love working directly with clients (you!), and are proud to advise buyers and sellers of condos, multifamily buildings, investments, or single family homes. We can help you rent your property out, or even help you find a place to rent for yourself.
We are educators, advocates, professionals, and we can help you translate your dreams into reality. We will guide you through the process step by step. Trust, honesty and transparency are very important to us. If you can’t trust us, then we don’t want you working with us. It’s that simple.
So, what is a salesperson, really?
So…then YES, we are salespeople. We help improve your life using real estate; we love what we do, and we care about our clients.
